What I'm Reading: World Book Day 2017
Today is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) World Book Day! This is a day to honor to books and authors from across the globe!
Did you know that World Book Day is celebrated every April 23rd, as a symbolic date in remembrance of the deaths of two major authors: William Shakespeare and Miguel de Cervantes?
What better way to celebrate the lives of these great authors and those of us keeping the art alive today, than with a great read? I’m reading – The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien.
Here are a few more of my favorite books that you can check out:
-The Pearl by John Steinbeck
– Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Random Riggs
-The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
Be sure to look at #ProjectReadathon to learn how you can make a difference in the lives of young readers in local communities throughout North America.
Happy reading!
Katrina
